Monday: something to love (remix)

In lieu of something that I love, today you are getting things I am thankful for in honor of my second favorite holiday--Thanksgiving.



So many things that I am thankful for are embodied in these pictures. Food, Home, Family, Friends, my Job, electricity, a warm house, love...the list goes on and on.

Remember my red TOMS? The ones I said I was going to decorate? Well I finally got around to that. I knew what I wanted to put on them when I got them in October. I just hadn't had time to actually do it. I finally had a few free minutes over Thanksgiving to sit down and take care of business.

You are getting several of the things I love today as I am feeling in a particularly excellent mood today. I think it's because I've thought it was Tuesday all day long...that and the pie fumes are getting to me.

where i really want to be right now

I talked to a lovely lady today who also studied abroad in London. It was an unexpected connection that gave us a great time bonding. It also made me remember this lovely place and wish I were back there.



The Ace Cafe is probably the closest thing to a biker bar that London will ever see. It's a fun hang out place where people get to show off their bikes and cars. For a nice car and bike enthusiast it is a wonderful dream. I loved going there...even though I had to convince my friend to walk through some janky streets to get there. We had a blast.

And they had the best cider I have ever had. I still crave me some Scrumpy Jack Cider. Yum...I could go for a pint right now. Delish.

I loved the summer that I spent in London. One of my favorite parts of London was Hampstead Heath. It is very difficult to describe what a heath is if you haven't actually experienced a heath. It's kind of like a big park, but different. You should just go see it for yourself, but here are a few pictures from one of the trips we took out there that summer.

Monday: something to love

Lovin' one of my favorite things...TOMS...also one of my favorite colors...aqua. One of my good friends says she loves wearing heels because they make her feel beautiful. These are pretty much the only heels I wear any more. It's just not practical for me to wear heels, and my feet don't really agree with heels much any more. However, I do have to say that these are among the most comfortable heels I have ever worn. And they are for a good cause...what's not to love?

I've been feeling restless, and just a tiny bit discontent today...so I wish I were here.

Fire. It captivates us. It entrances us. It warms us. This fire that my friends and I had last night allowed me to say good-bye to some stuff that I had been hanging onto for a couple years. There just really isn't anything quite as satisfying as watching something literally go up in smoke.

Right now I really want to be any where that I can have my toes dug into the sand with warm waves crashing over them.

art-walk it out

The first Friday of every month is Artwalk. It's one night a month where businesses stay open late and people have a chance to see the work of local artists and galleries. It's also a chance for local musicians to show their stuff--from actual shows to playing on street corners, there is musical stylings all over downtown.

Last night, my dear friend, Lee Ellen Starks, played at the Bistro Market for 3 hours, and here are a few shots I took there. The lighting was fantastic to work with.



One of my favorite things about Lee Ellen is that she has an incredible abundance of facial expressions...here are a few that I captured.





There wasn't really anywhere to sit and listen except on the floor, so that is where most people sat. Such a delightful evening!

A while back I entered a photo contest that Sarah from on the brightside... hosted. My collection that I photographed was my shell collection. Well, I won!! So I got to choose something off of her perfectly lovely etsy site. Let me tell you it was a difficult decision...especially since I'm not particularly good at making decisions in the first place. So anyway...this is what I chose.
