snow day
I really dislike winter and all that goes along with it. . .including snow. Especially now that I am out of school and no longer get the benefits of having a big snowstorm (a.k.a. a snow day). There just really is no pleasure in it whatsoever for me. However, I am trying to find beauty in every season, so I thought I would try snapping some pictures of the magnolia tree in my backyard which was laden with the fresh snow. It didn't really help me enjoy winter any more.
But later I did realize something I like about snowy days. It makes me want to make treats like these even more. Cold, snowy weather makes me want to just be in the kitchen all day long and cook and bake to my hearts desire.

Cold weather makes me want to be all snugly and curled up in my favorite comfy chair at my favorite coffeeshop sipping a steaming mug of coffee or tea or hot cocoa or chai...yum!

miniature delights :)
My roommate and a dear friend love miniature things. So when I was running out of cookie dough the last time and made a couple of mini cookies, my roommate told me that I should make mini cookies the next time I made them. Well, that was tonight...just look how cute and delicious they look!!!
Every time I make these cookies it takes me back to the first time I made them for some dear friends when we were on the other side of the world. Such wonderful memories.

chocolate = delight
I love chocolate. I'm a girl...it's in my blood. I didn't always like chocolate, but now I can't seem to get enough of it. The darker the better. Here is a photographic ode to three of my favorite chocolaty treats. Yum!
Askinosie 70% dark chocolate nibble bar...delish!!
And it even has c-h-o-c-o-l-a-t-e stamped into the bar...how fun is that?!?!
These are the best chocolate sandwich cookies ever...I'm not even kidding you. Late July Dark Chocolate sandwich cookies...so good!!
And what post about chocolate would be complete without chocolate chip cookie dough? My homemade spin on a fellow blogger's favorite recipe.
